COPA Copenhagen Patents is a modern patent agency based in the heart of Copenhagen with particular focus on tailored advice.
We have many years of experience in patenting within life science, clean tech, mechanics and electronics
COPA Copenhagen Patents was founded on 1 May 2012 and is managed by three partners; Mikkel Bender, European Patent Attorney, Steven Richard Kitchen, European Patent Attorney and Tina Rytter, Qualified IP Administrator.
Mikkel founded COPA Copenhagen Patents directly after having left his position as partner in a large patent agency where he had worked as patent attorney since 2003. Steven joined COPA Copenhagen Patents in October 2012 from a position as Patent Director in a large Danish company. Previously, Steven also worked as patent attorney and partner with Mikkel in the above patent agency. Tina joined COPA Copenhagen Patents from a position as State-Authorised Translator at a large law firm and worked prior to that as Patent Administrator for a period of 8 years with Mikkel and Steven in the same patent agency.
Focus on quality
It is essential to us that you experience counselling of high quality.
We regularly participate in seminars and supplementary training, both in Denmark and abroad, to ensure that you will always meet a quality-minded, well-prepared and service-minded patent team, who is very experienced in IP rights and is able to couple this knowledge with your business strategy.
Our primary focus is that our employees combine a superior level of IP expertise with a thorough knowledge of your specific technology and business strategy.
Focus on costs
We are focused on minimising your expenses when handling your IP rights. We aim to ensure that the expenses incurred in connection with cross-national patent families are minimised without compromising the quality of the applications.
We work in partnership with a wide range of foreign patent attorneys, whom we know well and have worked with for many years. We vouch for the quality of their work and we find that their fees are competitive. We always request our foreign associates not to perform any work on our cases unless we specifically instruct them to do so. In this way, we make sure that you do not pay for consultancy services more than once.
Focus on tailored advice
We particularly appeal to companies expecting personal contact, technical skills and professional advice, and we have a close and familiar relationship with our clients through many years.
We base the patenting process on an in-depth knowledge of your technologies and business strategy, working in close partnership with your company and technical team. This means that you will experience easy access to us, flexibility and due care.
Focus on continuity
Patent consulting is a matter of trust. We find it essential that the partnership between your company and your personal patent attorney at COPA Copenhagen Patents is based on trust. We know that it is important to many of our clients that their patent portfolios are handled by one and the same patent attorney, and we therefore aim to ensure that the close relation between you and your attorney at COPA Copenhagen Patents remains exactly that; a relation between you and your specific attorney.
